Dan enjoys playing an active role in serving his community and has been a recipient of awards and honors due to his passion, integrity, and dedication to serving others. He was named Citizen of the Year by Coronado Private Bank, received the Matthew 25 award from Catholic Charities, Rotarian of the Year, and Honorable Mention for the Global Impact award by Invest In Others.
He is dedicated to Rotary ideals and passionate for humanitarian causes. Dan has been a member of the Rotary Club of Coronado since 1995 and served as President in 2006-2007. He will serve as Rotary District Governor in 2021-22. He has served many roles within Rotary International District 5340, including Assistant Governor, Foundation Mentor, District Grants Subcommittee Chair, and Foundation Fundraising Subcommittee Chair. In 2015, Dan chaired Millions for Hope which raised over $30,000,000 of new bequests and donations to The Rotary Foundation.
His impactful service to the local and international communities includes Limbs of Freedom in Ensenada, Mexico, Rotary’s Youth Exchange Program, and fundraising-outreach trips to Missionvale, South Africa.
Currently, Dan chairs the board of directors for Sharp Coronado Hospital and is on the board of directors for Sharp Healthcare. He chairs the Finance committee at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Investment subcommittee for Coronado Yacht Club. Dan is a Regent of the Franciscan School of Theology at USD and is co-founder and board member of Missionvale USA.
Dan earned his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Masters degree in Financial Planning with an emphasis in Wealth Management. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, 24 and 65 securities registrations and is a licensed agent for life, disability, and long-term care insurance.
Dan and his wife Chris, and dog, Cooper, live in Coronado, California and have two adult daughters Lauren and Brooke. In his free time, Dan enjoys water and snow skiing, spending time with his family, playing drums, and pursuing humanitarian efforts.
