Dan Gensler is passionate about investing and financial planning.  In fact, it has been his life’s work to help others with their finances because of circumstances he experienced growing up.  His father made some very unfortunate decisions around money which triggered the loss of a business and the family home.  It un-railed the families financial stability forever more and changed the course of life for each and every family member.  At an early age, Dan was determined to make sure that he and his future family wouldn’t have that same experience.

While in college, he majored in Finance learning everything he could about investing and financial planning. He then passed the rigorous federal securities  exams right out of college and shortly thereafter, earned his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™ designation.  He went on to graduate school to earn his Masters in Financial Planning with an emphasis in Wealth Management. Today, Dan remains a student of the markets and stays current with ever changing tax and estate planning laws which he and his clients have come to count on.

Financial Planning FAQs

Financial planning is the long-term process of wisely managing your finances so you can work toward achieving your goals and dreams, while at the same time negotiating the financial barriers that inevitably arise in every stage of life. Remember, financial planning is a process, not a product.  As an Investment Advisory Representative (IAR) we can act as a fiduciary for advisory accounts.  We look at the investor's overall goals and objectives and act in the client's best interest. (See: Experience the difference)

Our clients tend to be in top 5% of wealth holders in the nation, but they all share a common concern.  That is; “Do I have enough money to last the rest of my life?”  This is by far, the biggest concern we’ve experienced and through our financial planning process we provide a detailed analysis that helps answer that question.  Tax planning is also an important concern and we work closely with our client’s CPA to efficiently manage this.  .  Estate planning is another crucial aspect of a financial plan.  We help our clients think through the process of where and how to distribute their estate after their gone.  Last but not least, insurance planning is part of a comprehensive financial plan.  It’s a fine balance of having enough protection, but not too much.

Investment Management FAQs

  • We believe markets are efficient and current market prices reflect all publicly known information.
  • We believe that there is a direct correlation between risk and return.
  • We believe that investment success is predicated on minimizing management expenses and maximizing diversification.
  • We believe asset allocation is a critical component of long term success.
  • We believe in staying the course through the good and bad and following disciplined rebalancing intervals.
  • We don’t believe long term investment success comes from security selection and/or market timing. (See: Investment Management Philosophy)

Our investment process is based on exhaustive financial research.  We see markets as an ally, not an adversary.  Rather than trying to take advantage of the ways markets are mistaken, we help our clients take advantage of the ways markets are. Or stated differently, we trust in the power of competition. Companies compete with each other for investment capital, and millions of investors compete with each other to find the most attractive returns. This competition quickly drives prices to fair value, creating a situation where investors should only expect greater potential returns if they are willing to bear greater risk. After establishing a client’s risk profile, goals and objectives, we create a diversified client portfolio, using highly diversified institutional index funds. (See: Our Process)

There is no guaranty that a diversified portfolio will enhance overall returns or out perform a non-diversified portfolio. Diversification does not protect against market risk.  Investing in mutual funds involves risk, including possible loss of principal.
